About the Idaho ITD written test
The Idaho knowledge test (often searched as the Idaho permit test or Idaho DMV test) checks that new drivers understand road signs, traffic laws and safe driving habits before getting a learner's permit. The questions come from the official Idaho driver handbook published by the Idaho Transportation Department.
Idaho applicants take a knowledge test at a county driver's license office based on the Idaho Driver's Handbook from the Idaho Transportation Department. The test has 40 questions and you may miss up to 6. Young drivers use a Driver Training Permit from age 14½ and move through Idaho's graduated licensing program.
