About the Montana MVD written test
The Montana knowledge test (often searched as the Montana permit test or Montana DMV test) checks that new drivers understand road signs, traffic laws and safe driving habits before getting a learner's permit. The questions come from the official Montana driver handbook published by the Montana Motor Vehicle Division.
Montana applicants take written, vision and driving tests through the Motor Vehicle Division, studying from the Montana Driver Manual. Teens can start a learner permit as early as 14 and a half with an approved traffic education course, and must complete 50 supervised hours.
