About the Wisconsin DMV written test
The Wisconsin knowledge test (often searched as the Wisconsin permit test) checks that new drivers understand road signs, traffic laws and safe driving habits before getting a learner's permit. The questions come from the official Wisconsin driver handbook published by the Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles.
Wisconsin applicants prepare with the Wisconsin Motorists' Handbook and take a 50-question knowledge test plus a 15-question highway signs test. Applicants 18 and older may get a permit after passing both tests and a vision screening.
